Fly Hornets, Fly!

A little more than a week or so ago, the side yard trees were still resplendent in autumnal hues of fiery red, blazing orange, and rustic-russet brown. Today was our coldest day yet, with reportedly sub-freezing temperatures recorded in all fifty states of the US!

As I looked out the window today after reading the local papers and sipping my black coffee, I surveyed the seasonal defoliation and realized that the last remnants of the hornet’s nest are gone, totally gone! I wrote about it last year, shortly after the Christmas holiday.
